Szukałem też jakiejś działającej wersji MeGoo, ale skoro jest ono we wstępnym stadium rozwoju, to pewnie nie będzie działać najlepiej. W takim razie, czy jest tu ktoś obeznany, kto wytłumaczy jaka jest różnica pomiędzy Ubuntu Moblin Remix i SUSE Moblin (Moblin – poprzednik MeGoo)? Czy polega to tylko na innym managerze pakietów?
Ma ktoś jakieś doświadczenia z tym systemem i może porównać ze zwykłymi netbookowymi edycjami (np. opartymi na GNOME albo KDE)?
Widać różnicę i czuć różnicę. gdybyś przejrzał repo suse-moblin, zauważyłbyś szczegóły jajka oraz aplikacji, które dostosowane są do themsa Moblina, a nie jak to jest w 'czystym' Moblinie zaledwie parę programów, reszta jest pod gnome i kde. Novell dodaje ponad to, swoje centrum zarządzania i np. firewall, czego nie uświadczysz w 'czystym' Moblinie. Widziałem również kodeki od fluendo mp3 i aac, resztę można zdobyć za 28 euro z rocznym wsparciem. Wersja 2.1 suse-Moblin nie ma domyślnie j. polskiego, ale działa wi-fi np. na wind u-100.
Oba systemy Meego i Moblin, to tylko szkielet do modyfikacji dla większych dystrybucji, jednakże Meego, to podobno ma być własną, całkowicie oddzielną dystrybucją. W bieżącej wersji 1.0 nie działa jednak bezprzewodowy Realtek i jest błąd w dostaniu się do aktualizacji systemu. Nie ma również obiecanego wsparcia dla mp3 i innych kodeków. Kompilacja na własną rękę kończy się błędem.
Gdyby nie RedHat i Novell, to ten cały Linux/Unix ssałby cyca jeszcze.
