Skype poinformował o wydaniu wersji lite swojego komunikatora i klienta VoIP. Przygotowana wersja Lite (lekka wersja) działa między innymi na Androidzie i 100 innych modelach obsługujących Javę.
Wydanie wersji jest efektem zakończenia ubiegłorocznych testów beta. W końcowej wersji zostały uwzględnione uwagi użytkowników wersji bety komunikatora.
Skype Lite zaoferuje nam podstawowe funkcje komputerowej wersji aplikacji, czyli:
- Możliwość wykonywania połączeń do wszystkich użytkowników Skype
- Funkcję komunikatora tekstowego – wysyłanie i odbieranie wiadomości
- Niższe ceny na połączenia do sieci komórkowych oraz sieci stacjonarnych
- Statusy naszych znajomych
Komunikator może działać zarówno z WiFi, jak i pakietową transmisją danych (GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/HSDPA).
Skype na Androida można pobrać z Android Market. Na pozostałe telefony takich producentów jak LG, Motorola, Nokia, Samsung i Sony Ericsson aplikację ściągniemy ze strony producenta, gdzie jest dostępna pełna lista obsługiwanych telefonów.

Pewnie nie chodzi o 100 innych modeli z systemem Android
. Zresztą, to by się nawet nie kleiło. Dlatego radzę przebudować i nieco rozbudować newsa, a dodatkowo zmienić tytuł.
przecież jest napisane na Androidzie i i 100 innych modelach. Innych modelach to właśnie chodzi o te nie z Androidem. Czytanie ze zrozumieniem się kłania. Tytuł ma zwrócić uwagę, że Skype jest już dostępny na Androida bo wcześniejsza beta tego oprogramowania działała na tych pozostałych 100 modelach, a Androida wtedy jeszcze nie było.
Heh, nie ma jak upychanie Androida na siłę do newsa o javowym Skypie.
1. Zamiast skupiać się na Androidzie, to może lepiej napisać że działa to po prostu na J2ME? Na pewno jest znacznie więcej zainteresowanych wersją "nieandroidową".
2. Proponuję też podkreślić że rozmowy ze SkypeLite NIE SĄ DARMOWE
(3. i może też wywalić GPRS z listy protokołów)
Zainstalowałem na Noki 6300, wybrałem ,,Skype Test Call'' i… dostałem pytanie, czy telefon może wykonać rozmowę z numerem stacjonarnym (+48222446002). Czyli rozmowy głosowe odbywają się za pomocą standardowej usługi głosowej operatora (przy konfiguracji, trzeba podać swój numer telefonu – domyślam się że po to, żeby dało się na niego zadzwonić z zewnątrz). Nie wiem jakie są opłaty za połączenie przychodzące – ale jakieś chyba są, któs musi przecież do nas zadzwonić… Natomiast Chat odbywa się przez GPRS.
Hmm, jeśli chodzi o Symbiana to Fring ma chyba lepszego klienta bo natywnego.

Artykuł niezły, ale chyba mocno upraszczający. Polecam komentarze do niego. Szczególnie "danfuzz" i "Kuosh".
Dlaczego? Bo idą w zaparte?
Zobacz, że jednym z komentujących jest autor artykułu, który (również w treści samego artykułu) przyznaje, że to jest mocne uproszczenie i paru rzeczy nie wie i o nie dopytuje.
Mało się znam na budowie wirtualnych maszyn i innych rzeczach poruszanych w tym artykule i nie jestem w stanie sensownie ocenić wartości merytorycznej tego artykułu. Mówię raczej o tym, że gość sam przyznaje się do uproszczeń. Mam wrażenie, że zbyt łatwo z tego artykuły wyciągnąć jednomyślowy wniosek "Android jest słaby".
Ale to nie było celem artykułu. Celem było zrozumienie działań Google do:
a) wytwarzanie własnych rozwiązań otwartych, zamiast użycie istniejących;
b) wciskanie ich ludziom jako dużo lepszych rozwiązań, wyglądających prześlicznie na papierze, ale w praktyce "wąskich".
Trochę byłem zdziwiony, że oponenci poszli w zaparte twierdząc "A u nas jest separacja procesów". Po tym jak autor określił ją jako nic nadzwyczajnego, oni odparli, że w Mono jej nie ma.
No i na koniec. Ile w androidzie jest technologii zgodnych z freedesktop? Czy oni czasem nie zrobili jak Microsoft, omijając zasady z daleka.
Wiem, że Linux jest wolny i każdy może sobie z nim robić co mu się podoba, ale tworzenie standardu przemysłowego w ramach openhandset (chyba się nie pomyliłem?), z pominięciem osiągnięć społeczności to delikatnie mówiąc Obraza.
I nie można powiedzieć, że się nie da. Są przykłady przeczące temu.
Z jakichś powodów nie przekonało ich Mono (czy też jakieś inne gotowe rozwiązania). Bardzo jestem ciekaw oficjalnych wypowiedzi i mam nadzieję, że na grupach dyskusyjnych ta dyskusja zostanie pogłębiona. Bardzo się boję, że rzeczy mogą się rozbijać o licencje i jakieś sprawy pozatechnologiczne (gdzieś w dyskusji w komentarzach to się przewinęło).
Co do freedesktop, to nie mam o tym pojęcia, więc się nie wypowiem, ale ciekawią mnie przykłady o których mówisz. Lubię się dokształcać
Ja jestem ciekaw czemu do tej pory nikt nie złamał protokołu skype? Nie ma żadnego klona skype jak na razie (po za tymi które i tak wymagają skype do pracy).
Bo po co, skoro mamy SIP *pyk* skoro można kraść? Sam nie wiem.
Z tego samego powodu dla którego przyjemniej korzystać z własnościowych sieci GG czy ICQ za pośrednictwem otwartego i dostosowanego pod potrzeby nasze klienta niż użerać się z krową od Skype która żre nie wiadomo ile pamięci i nie wiadomo co robi za naszymi plecami.
Po co w ogóle używać? Z tego samego powodu dla którego ogromna większość z nas posiada (prócz JID np.) numer GG…

Chociaż gdyby zrobić konkurs dla "młodych zdolnych"… niemal każdy ma środki wystarczające do podjęcia próby, a jak się złamie jedną transmisję, to tak na prawdę złamie się wszystkie.
Niekoniecznie. Dobre szyfrowanie to takie, które nawet po upublicznieniu cały czas jest bezpiecznie. A jeśli w Skypie jest szyforwanie z parą kluczy (prywatny i publiczny) to raczej by potrzebna była jakaś luka w algorytmie albo implementacji
No tak ale te klucze muszę być w programie skype. Przecież żeby skype się połączył musi użyć jakiegoś klucza. Jeśli program skype sie jakoś łączy to na 100% można dokonać reverse i to sprawdzić.
Nie musi mieć żadnego klucza. Poczytaj np. o wymianie kluczy Diffie-Hellmana.
Ściągnąłem sobie wczoraj Skype na telefon (Sony Ericsson C702). Wygląda ładnie i na tym piękno się kończy. Odbieranie rozmów jest płatne (jak za przekierowanie z konta Skype na telefon komórkowy, płatne ze środków na koncie Skype), a dzwonienia wygląda tak: wybierasz zadzwoń do kontaktu, telefon prosi cię o zgodę na połączenie i łączy się z jakimś warszawskim numerem (czyli płacisz jak za rozmowę na stacjonarny), który służy jako bramka głosowa Skype. Rozmówca podobno widzi rozmowę jako rozmowę z telefonu komórkowego. Ale w sumie działa, przynajmniej na "Skype Test Call"…
